Fondée en 1850 pour accueillir les voyageurs voyageant à pied, à cheval et en voiture. Les anciennes écuries sont encore visibles dans l'actuel espace restaurant, elles pouvaient abriter jusqu'à 100 chevaux de selle et de trait.

Elle devient rapidement l'un des principaux relais entre Blois et Romorantin. Afin de perpétuer la tradition, le restaurant a conservé le nom original des Trois Marchands : Les trois Marchands

Une curiosité supplémentaire sur l'histoire de cet édifice : La partie qui jouxte l'église était un ancien couvent.

Situé au cœur de Cour-Cheverny, c'est aujourd'hui une journée engagée à la fois dans la préservation de son histoire et dans la préservation de son esprit de convivialité.
